The suite takes its name from the famous gate; between Dante and Bellini lies Port'Alba... The gate connects the two squares dedicated respectively to the great poet and the great composer. Essentially, it's a sort of double gate: the one called Port'Alba, which faces Piazza Dante, leads onto a very short street that then opens through another archway into Piazza Bellini. A double gateway, therefore, to a street also called Port'Alba, known for its numerous shops with street stalls selling new and, especially, used books. These shops, in truth, are increasingly giving way to cafés, pizzerias, and public places in general. Moreover, the nearby Piazza Bellini has become one of the heart of Naples' nightlife, a favorite spot for aperitivo and a gathering place for thousands of people, especially young people. Sweets stalls and street performers contribute to the life and vitality of this gate, which dates back to the 17th century.
